Created and directed with his wife, world-recognized innovation expert Jeanine Esposito, Beechwood's mission is to expand how the arts are created and experienced, through collaboration, innovation and technology. The Arts Immersion Salons that form the core of Beechwood's activities take place throughout the year, involving visual artists, sculptors, musicians, performers, filmmakers, makers and chefs in cross-genre collaboration and exploration.

This innovative update to Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet ballet creates an immersive and interactive experience, that breaks down the 4th wall, and leaves it to the audience to decide the fate of the star-crossed lovers.
The original piano version of the ballet, heard in a world premiere, brings an added energy and engagement to the music that matches the visceral experience of being up close to the dancers.
GURDJIEFF PROJECT
Gurdjieff was a mystical guru from the first half of the 20th century whose influence continues today. Music was an integral part of his understanding of the world. Gurdjieff’s music was notated and arranged by Thomas de Hartmann, a student at the St. Petersburg Conservatory when Prokofiev was also there.
In Hymns & Dervishes, Frederic Chiu adds a special element that enhances the spiritual and mystical qualities of this unique collaborative output. By tuning each piece to a different scale, customized specifically for each piece to bring out its unique character, listeners are taken on a musical journey unlike any in Classical music.

Frederic Chiu released over 25 CDs on Harmonia Mundi, with repertoire ranging from Bach to Schoenberg, and including the complete piano works of Prokofiev.

This Classical label, one of the oldest independent labels still making a difference, has a legacy that transcends genres and cultures. Besides Hymns & Dervishes, Frederic Chiu recently released "Schnabel and Schubert" and "Beethoven Symphonies V & VII" on this venerable label.

Frederic's album Distant Voices was the first Classical recording produced by YEG and Chris Gero. Using the latest Disklavier technology the recording was done in record time, and includes an audio CD, a video DVD with interviews with the artist, and a DIsklavierTV special documentary.
Frederic joins this esteemed institution as it enters its 100th year. its illustrious past, as a stand-alone music school, then as one of the founding entities of the University of Hartford, makes it an influential force in music in New England.
